CELEBRATING 26 YEARS OF HIS FAITHFULNESS
To the glory of God, it has been twenty-six glorious years of God’s faithfulness. He is truly a God of mercy. It all started through the vision the Lord gave our Father in the Lord, Pastor E.A. Adeboye that there should be a Redeemed Christian Church of God within five minutes walking distance in developing countries and ten minutes driving distance in developed countries. Hence, RCCG Victory Temple was born in 1996.
To recognize and appreciate the goodness of God, we will flash our minds back briefly to some key elements that happened for the past fifteen years. Our 1st Sunday service was actually held on August 11th, 1996 with a total attendance of 26 people. The breakdown is as follows: Men- 17, Women – 4, Children – 5. The location of the church then was 8604 Central Avenue Landover, MD 20785 and we later moved to The Holiday Inn hotel in College Park, MD. From the Holiday Inn in College Park we moved to James H. Harrison Elementary School, Laurel and later moved to Dwight Eisenhower Middle School, Laurel.
In April 2002, we moved to our present location, 13701 Old Annapolis Road, Bowie, MD, which we purchased for $1.35m and renovated with $1million; while Pastor Margaret Adeyokunnu and some other workers stayed in Dwight Eisenhower Middle School, Laurel to continue the work in the Laurel community. Today to the glory of God, our membership spans over 2,000 people. To facilitate the work of the church, we now 45 ministries/departments.
